Hello there! My name is Michelle, an illustrator living in the midldle bit of England with one husband, four children and a tidy tuxedo cat. I adore children’s book illustration, with an ever growing collection of children’s illustrated books to look at, read and share. My most favourite thing to do is create characters be it children, animals, or insects, and worlds for them to play in.

It’s so cool transforming early sketches into characterful personalities for children and adults to enjoy alike. And then the wonder happens…colour! Here, you’ll find me in the studio surrounded by a clutter of paint brushes, palette boxes of watercolours, inks, coloured pencils and pens, and lots of splashes- happy! Although the cat often rolls her eyes at the mess! And I’ll let you into a little secret….. there’s a dash of digital wizardry too! So you see, I love sketching, I love drawing characters and I love, love, love colour.

Now, when I’m not creating characters and amazing worlds for them to venture in, I am teaching others the wonders of drawing, painting and printing through my local college and through workshops for events, schools and local organisations. I have worked with clients on illustration projects too. And when I’m not doing that, you’ll find me out and about adventuring in the city, along the riverbank, down on the beach, in the woods or up a mountain collecting inspiration for more characters and their adventures. ​
